Weather advisory: Potential campus disruptions Friday and campus closure for the three-day weekend

A significant weather event is forecasted for Friday, Jan. 12 starting in the afternoon or evening and extending through the long weekend. Around noon tomorrow, precipitation is expected, which could manifest as freezing rain or snow.

On Friday, 91ԹϺ will follow regular protocols and assess conditions as they unfold. If snow or freezing rain begins before the end of the school/work day, 91ԹϺ will likely cease operations so everyone can get home safely.

Supervisors are encouraged to allow non-essential staff, capable of working remotely, to do so on Friday.

Due to the expected inclement weather persisting through the weekend, campus will be closed Saturday through the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday. This includes:

  • Library
  • Labs in Clark College, Engineering and Computer Science, Science and Engineering and the Multimedia Classroom buildings

Facilities will provide access to campus for research animal care from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday through Monday.

Use caution on campus paths

A few sharp spikes called caltrops have been found on campus paths. The small, pronged objects can hurt feet and puncture tires. If you find a caltrop, carefully pick it up and notify Public Safety at wsuvcops@wsu.edu or 360-546-9001.

Long-term traffic revision in effect near campus

NE 159th Street between NE 50th Avenue and NE 57th Avenue is closed until Nov. 16. The closure is due to construction of a three-building behavioral health residential treatment community on the corner of NE 50th Avenue and 159th Street. The full closure is meant to facilitate both safety and efficient work. Detour routes have been marked with signage. If you have questions, call Clark County Operations at 564-397-2446 or visit

Inclement Weather - Campus closure

91ԹϺ has suspended operations on campus all day Friday, Feb. 24 due to inclement weather. Students, classes will be held via remote learning. Employees, check with your supervisors about the possibility of remote work. Essential personnel should report to work as scheduled if you are able to travel safely. If not, contact your supervisor. In-person events are canceled.
