Gender expert to speak about white male anger at 91勛圖窪蹋厙

VANCOUVER, Wash. Sociologist and author Michael Kimmel will address white male anger in a lecture based on his new book, Angry White Men: American Masculinity at the End of an Era, at 7 p.m. Oct. 12, at Washington State University Vancouvers Dengerink Administration Building, Room 110. The presentation will be followed by a meet and greet.

Kimmel will discuss why men seem so angry, and the different groups that organize and express that anger, from men's rights groups to workplace violence, angry white boys and the extreme right wing. Kimmel is a Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Gender Studies at Stony Brook University. He has written nearly a dozen books on gender and masculinity, including the bestseller Guyland: The Perilous World Where Boys Become Men. He founded the Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities at Stony Brook University and has delivered International Womens Day lectures at the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Council of Europe.
