VANCOUVER, Wash. – Cougs in the Community, a volunteer group organized by Washington State University Vancouver, will join Habitat for Humanity for a store improvement day. Volunteers are invited to meet at 9 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 10811 SE 2nd Street.
The project will involve assistance with organization, recycling items and fixing cabinets and other furniture. Volunteers should wear outdoor attire with sturdy, closed-toed shoes and are invited to bring their own tools. Volunteers 17 years old or younger need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The cleanup will finish at noon.
Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates houses with the help of partner families for no profit. Through volunteers, their ReStore’s have kept tons of usable materials out of landfills and helped build homes in the community.
Cougs in the Community volunteer projects are organized two or three times each year to benefit a project in Southwest Washington or the Portland metropolitan area. WSU alumni, students, staff, faculty and friends are invited to participate. To or for information about helping Habitat for Humanity, call 360-546-9501 or email jbredstrand@vancouver.wsu.edu.
