Vancouver, Wash. - The library at Washington State University Vancouver is using a recent grant of more than $7,600 to create, provide and promote on-demand, downloadable podcasts for students, staff and faculty.
The one-year Library Services and Technology Act competitive grant, "Reaching Millennials: Library Podcasting," from Washington State Library in Olympia, Wash., () helps libraries use new media to teach modern students to utilize their services most effectively.
"We intend to produce five instructional podcasts, such as how to search for and request books from online book catalogs," said Linda Frederiksen, Access Services Librarian at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø. "We're excited about using this technology to make instruction more available to students whenever they want, wherever they are, not just here in our building during business hours."
