WHO: The first incoming freshmen to attend 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø, starting fall semester 2006, and their guests (usually parents).
WHAT: Students and their guest(s) will have the opportunity to have lunch with faculty, pose questions to a panel of current students (a great way to get the "inside scoop"), and get to know fellow students through team building.
WHERE: 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø campus, 14204 NE Salmon Creek Avenue.
WHEN: Aug. 11, 11:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Students will meet with faculty in the morning, then will have lunch on the campus café terrace at 11:30 a.m., followed by afternoon activities. Guests meet with faculty in the afternoon.
WHY: "Research shows that freshmen who had a successful first year of college were well-informed about the processes involved in selecting and registering for classes, as well as the various services available to them," said Nancy Youlden, Vice Chancellor of Student Services. "We want all of our freshmen to succeed at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø and, therefore, freshman attendance at ROAR is mandatory. The ROAR events offer valuable information critical to the success of incoming freshmen because it helps them navigate through their initial weeks here on our campus." This is the third ROAR Advising and Registration Day, with other students having attended in June and July. The final event is ROAR Orientation required for all freshmen students August 18 and 19 to kick off the school year.
