All registration fees support the Student Leadership Award, which is awarded annually in the spring.

The race/walk will feature official timing (AA Sports), water, sports drinks and food. Music will liven up the event and photographers will capture every moment. An awards ceremony will wrap up the morning. All participants will receive a gift bag, T-shirt and a finisher medal.

The Cougar Community 5K is a challenging cross country course. It has steep descents and inclines. Surfaces include concrete, curbs, bark chips, dirt, mud, gravel, uneven ground, grass, wooden bridges, and wooden boardwalks. There will be multiple wet, slippery, muddy, dirty and rough areas with many tripping hazards. Due to the variety of terrain, wheelchairs and strollers cannot be accommodated.
