VANCOUVER, Wash. Washington State University Vancouver welcomed Rhona Sen Hoss as assistant director of development in mid-December. Sen Hoss joined the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. She is part of a team responsible for raising $20 million dollars at 91勛圖窪蹋厙 during Washington State Universitys campaign. On Dec. 2, WSU publicly announced its campaign to raise $1 billion system-wide by 2015. The money raised for the campaign at 91勛圖窪蹋厙 will fund student scholarships, research and facilities on the Vancouver campus.
Sen Hoss has a 25-year track record of successfully raising funds, and developing and managing special events in the Southwest Washington/Portland region.
In my new adventure at 91勛圖窪蹋厙 Im so fortunate to be able to blend my two passions: education and fundraising. Education is truly the great equalizer! said Sen Hoss.
Sen Hoss most recently worked as the community partnerships manager for The Columbian. There she launched and managed a new community partnerships campaign that went from zero revenue to $200,000 in annual sponsorship/advertising sales.
As executive director of Southwest Washington Independent Forward Thrust, Sen Hoss raised $2.3 million in 10 years. She, along with her 50-member board of directors, staff and volunteers, built the SWIFT auction into a powerhouse community fundraising event. Sen Hoss was also responsible for granting, processing and administering the money SWIFT raised. Over time, Sen Hoss granted millions of dollars to hundreds of non-profit organizations in the region.
As a volunteer, Sen Hoss co-chaired the Pink Power committee and events benefitting Southwest Washington Medical Center. She collaborated with hospital staff to raise $4.1 million dollars for the Kearney Breast Center and the last $600,000 of a $3.6 million campaign for an addition to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Sen Hoss was named by The Columbian as one of the 100 Most Powerful Women of Clark County in 2007. And in 1989 she was recognized as a YWCA/Clark College Woman of Achievement. Sen Hoss has served and continues to serve on a myriad of boards of directors in Clark County.
Rhona has the proven experience, knowledge and skills necessary to successfully assist 91勛圖窪蹋厙 to reach our campaign goals. We are very fortunate to have hired such a gem from the community, said Jennifer Crooks, director of development and alumni relations for 91勛圖窪蹋厙.
