VANCOUVER, Wash. – Thomas Henick-Kling, director of Washington State University’s new Wine Science Center, will deliver the fall 2014 Chancellor’s Seminar Series lecture at 91ԹϺ.
Titled “The Promise of Washington Wines,” the program runs from 11:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 10 in the Firstenburg Student Commons on campus. A $25 ticket includes the program, lunch and parking. To purchase tickets, visit or call 360-546-9580.
Henick-Kling will speak about Washington wines and the Wine Science Center’s role in our state’s economic growth. An internationally renowned researcher and professor of viticulture and enology at WSU Tri-Cities, Henick-Kling is an expert in both the science and the business of wine. He was instrumental in establishing the viticulture and enology program at Cornell University, where he was on the faculty for 20 years.
Two local wine industry entrepreneurs will lead a question-and-answer session: Russell Brent, owner of Mill Creek Pub in Battle Ground, Wash., and Walt Houser, owner of Bethany Vineyard & Winery in Ridgefield, Wash. These speakers will suggest ways you can help promote Washington wines.
The Chancellor’s Seminar Series is held each semester to provide a forum for thoughtful perspectives and the exchange of ideas on timely topics.
