VANCOUVER, WASH. - Washington State University Vancouver has named the members of its 2011/2012 Advisory Council, a team of appointed community leaders and representatives of both public and private organizations. The council advises 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ꿉۪s chancellor regarding the community's needs and preferences for university activities and programs, particularly as they relate to the economic and social/cultural development of the community.
New members of the 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Advisory Council include KC Hsu, president of WaferTech; Heidi Piper-Schultz, human resources and government affairs manager at Corwin Beverage Company; and Roger Qualman, chief operating officer for Norris Beggs and Simpson.
The council’s returning members include Steve Horenstein, chair, attorney for Miller Nash Attorneys at Law; Jonathon Avery, administrator at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital; Twyla Barnes, superintendent of Educational Service District 112; Bill Barron, county administrator for Clark County; Lanny Cawley, executive director of the Port of Kalama; Brent Grening, executive director of the Port of Ridgefield; Eric Holmes, city manager for the City of Vancouver; Addison Jacobs, director of public affairs for the Port of Vancouver; Val Ogden, community volunteer and former state representative; Craig Pridemore, ex-officio, senator, Washington state; Steven Webb, superintendent of Vancouver School District; John White, vice president of Berger/ABAM; Mike Worthy, regent, Washington State University Board of Regents; and Joseph Zarelli, ex-officio, senator, Washington state.
Advisory Council members are recommended by 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ꿉۪s chancellor and formally appointed by WSU President Elson S. Floyd. Appointments are staggered and last from one to three years. Council members participate in an advisory role and are not part of the formal governance of Washington State University.
