Vancouver, Wash - The Associated Students of Washington State University Vancouver completed a clothing, toy and food drive this week, donating the proceeds to three local charities.

Throughout November and the first week of December students, faculty and staff dropped off donations throughout the campus.

The result was truckloads of goods and $250, used to buy new toys.

ASWSUV donated the toys to the Camas Fire Department, who will donate them to families with children in need of holiday gifts.

"Clothes we collected will be delivered next week to the Open House ministries," said Linda Bui, ASWSUV public relations director and a senior majoring in public affairs. "They help the homeless with shelter, finding jobs, and addiction recovery. Non-perishable food items went to FISH of Orchards food bank, currently serving over 100 families in need of food each day."

"The purpose of this drive was not just to donate but to show we could come together as a campus community and help," she said. "We do not have a sports team here, or anything like that to bring the school together. The student government really wanted to unite the campus, and it was a very successful event."
