VANCOUVER, Wash. - Washington State University Vancouver Chancellor Hal Dengerink has been appointed to the Washington Technology Center Board of Directors by Washington State Governor Christine Gregoire.
As senior administrative officer for 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø, Dengerink provides overall leadership and guidance in campus growth and acts as a liaison between 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø and WSU Pullman. His additional appointment as special assistant to the president for system implementation, gives him a strategic role in the development of the WSU multi-campus university. In Southwest Washington, he serves as a catalyst for growth and partnerships with local businesses and institutions.
Dengerink served as the campus executive officer and dean for 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø from 1990 to 2003 and was named chancellor in 2003. He served as associate dean of the College of Sciences and Arts at WSU Pullman from 1985 to 1990 and was the director of the American Psychological Association approved Clinical Psychology Training Program from 1978 to 1985. Dengerink joined the faculty at WSU in 1969.
He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1965 and a doctorate in psychology in 1969 from Kent State University.
In addition to his new position with the WTC, Dengerink is a member of the Southwest Washington Medical Center, Quality Standards Committee; Columbia United Providers Board of Trustees; Columbia River Economic Development Council Board of Directors; and the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce Board.
The WTC is a statewide economic development agency focused on technology and innovation. The WTC channels state, federal, and private resources to help companies develop and commercialize new products and technologies.
91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø offers 14 bachelors and nine master's degrees in more than 35 fields of study. The campus is located at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave., east of the 134th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205.
