VANCOUVER, Wash – Four candidates for the position of chancellor of Washington State University Vancouver will be visiting campus in the next two weeks.
All will meet with campus groups and will attend a community forum from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. in the Dengerink Administration building, room 110 on the day of their visit. Campus and community members are invited to attend the forums.
Cheryl Norton, senior fellow of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, will visit Thursday, Feb. 23. She previously served as president of Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven from April 2004 to May 2010. She earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education and recreation from Denison (Ohio) University, a master of arts degree and master of education degree, both in applied physiology, from Teachers College at Columbia University, and a doctor of education degree in applied physiology from the same institution.
On Friday, Feb. 24, Taylor Eighmy, the vice president for research and professor at Texas Tech University, will visit campus. He has served in his current position since 2009, previously he held a number of administrative positions at the University of New Hampshire, including interim vice president for research. He earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Tufts University, and master’s and doctoral degrees in civil engineering from the University of New Hampshire.
Karen White, a professor of music at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, will come to 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø on Monday, Feb. 27. She also has served as the regional chancellor of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg and senior advisor to the campus executive officer at University of South Florida Polytechnic. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Arkansas, and master’s and doctoral degrees in violin performance from the University of Arizona.
On Wednesday, Feb. 29, Emile Netzhammer, III, provost and professor at Keene State (N.H.) College, will visit campus. He has worked at Keene State since 2006; he previously was the dean of arts and humanities at Buffalo State College. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communication for Loyola University in New Orleans and his master’s degree in mass communication and doctoral degree in communication from the University of Utah.
