VANCOUVER, Wash. - Three Washington State University Vancouver business students represented all of WSU in the National Collegiate Sales Competition held at Kennesaw State University, Feb. 26 - 28. Bobby Castaneda and Jonathan Tharp competed in the undergraduate division, while Jason West competed in the graduate division.
Castaneda, Tharp and West placed first, second and third respectively in the local NCSC qualifying competition held at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø in December. The three traveled to Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga., and competed against teams from over 50 other leading universities. West placed fourth for the graduate division.
The NCSC is a sales role-play competition designed to enhance the educational experience of students with a strong desire to pursue a career in professional sales. Each role-play is broadcast live to a panel of judges comprised of corporate sponsors scouting the next best sales stars. The NCSC is the only competition that allows students from all over North America to test their selling skills in one-on-one sales call challenges. The students are the best and brightest in their collegiate sales programs.
Corporate sponsor resources provide funding that allows the NCSC to defray the expenses of students and faculty participating in the program. Many of the best and brightest sales students would be unable to attend without corporate sponsors such as Aramark, who is now contributing the full financial support for costs associated with hosting the annual qualifying event for the NCSC at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø each fall.
91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø is located at 14204 NE Salmon Creek Ave., east of the 134th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205, or via C-Tran bus service. We offer 16 bachelor's degrees, nine master's degrees, one doctorate degree and more than 36 fields of study. Visit us on the Web at .
