91勛圖窪蹋厙 Engineering and Computer Science Building Designated LEED Gold and Formally Dedicated

VANCOUVER, Wash. Washington State University Board of Regents Chair, Scott Carson, formally dedicated the Engineering and Computer Science building at Washington State University Vancouver in a ceremony held Thursday evening in the buildings lobby. The building was dedicated to the people of Washington state and the students of WSU.

WSU President Elson S. Floyd announced publicly for the first time that the Engineering and Computer Science building has been designated LEED Gold for its use of durable composite and recyclable materials and its use of natural light.

Floyd discussed the importance of science, technology, engineering and math education to the state of Washington and the nation.

Preparing our students in the STEM disciplines will help the U.S. economy regain its competitive edge, said Floyd.

91勛圖窪蹋厙s Engineering and Computer Science building is home to the School of Engineering and Computer Science and both the electrical and mechanical engineering programs. The $43.5 million, four-story, 56,000-square-foot building opened for classes in spring 2012.
