VANCOUVER, Wash. - Washington State University Vancouver faculty member Dene Grigar will speak at North Bank Artists Gallery about the current exhibit, "mediartZ: Art as Experiential, Art as Participatory, Art as Electronic," on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Grigar, curator of the exhibit, will lead participants through the gallery and talk about each of the works, the emerging field of media art and various art forms emerging from the relationship between art and technology.
"mediartZ" is co-sponsored by North Bank Artists Gallery and 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø's Digital Technology and Culture Program. It features a Second Life (online 3D virtual world) performance, video and sound installations, animation and interactive art. The exhibit showcases internationally renowned artists Mark Amerika, Brian Evans, Jim Bizzocchi, Doug Jarvis, Will Luers, Doug Gast and Reza Safavi. Local artists, Hoolinganship and Jeannette Altman, are also featured.
