Vancouver, Wash. - A selection of monotype print works from Portland artist Dr. Marcus Miller is on display in the Administration Building gallery through April 13.

Monotype prints are also known as "the painterly print" because of the brush like quality of the images. Miller's artwork presents an interesting intersection between his work in medicine and his study of the human figure.

After receiving a Bachelor's of Science degree with a minor in fine arts, and a major in biology, Miller received his M.D. from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He moved to Portland in 1983 where he completed his residency in internal medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital. After 13 years in practice, he earned a second doctorate at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, graduating with academic honors and honors in research. Dr. Miller is one of a small number of physicians to be Board Certified in both internal medicine and naturopathic medicine. He is currently a faculty member at NCNM. When not teaching or seeing patients, he pursues his passion for portrait painting and print making. In the Portland art community, Miller has studied with Paul Missal and William Park.
