VANCOUVER, Wash. Grisha Alpernas has accepted the position of information technology director at Washington State University Vancouver. He will take his post Feb. 21.
Alpernas was previously chief information officer for Marion County and IT operations manager at the City of Portland. He held many leadership roles in the private sector before making the switch to public sector positions. Alpernas has worked internationally in a number of countries and roles. He has the equivalent of an MS in Mathematics/MA in Education (Vilnius State University) and an Executive MPA from Portland State University.
At 91勛圖窪蹋厙 Alpernas will be responsible for department management, budget development and administration, strategic planning, project management and staff development. He will provide leadership with emphasis on customer service in all areas of information systems, including development and maintenance of network and computing infrastructure, networked services, IP video conferencing, help desk, desktop support and campus computer labs.
Grishas extensive experience and diverse background will help 91勛圖窪蹋厙 take its IT services to the next level. He is a skilled and experienced professional with a keen intellect and strong interest in higher educations value to the community.
