VANCOUVER, Wash. -Washington State University Vancouver will host "Are We Safer in the Dark?," a Sunshine Week dialogue on open government and secrecy at 10 a.m. March 13, in the Student Services Building, Room 110.

Moderated by Geneva Overholster, endowed chair from the Missouri School of Journalism, the event strives to raise awareness around the importance of openness in government.

The event is part of a national "Are We Safer in the Dark?" program, which centers on a Washington, D.C. panel discussion of nationally recognized experts addressing issues around open government and secrecy and its impact on communities.
