VANCOUVER, Wash. Washington State University Vancouver will host Portland writer Jonathan Raymond at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3 in the Multimedia Classroom building, room 23. Raymond will present How Do I Get My Story to the Screen? This event is free and open to the public.
Raymond is the author of The Half-Life (2004) and Livability (2008). Livability is a short-story collection that won the Oregon Book Awards Ken Kesey Award for fiction in 2009. He is also co-writer of two films directed by Kelly Reichardt, Old Joy, which played at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, and Wendy and Lucy. Both movies were adapted from his short stories.
In addition to authoring books and screenplays, Raymond is co-editor of Tin House and editor of Plazm. He has written extensively about art for Artforum and Modern Painters among others.
