91ԹϺ hosts forum on gaining a competitive advantage

Business Growth Mentor & Analysis ProgramVANCOUVER, Wash. – Members of the business community are invited to attend Washington State University Vancouver’s next Business Growth Alliance forum to learn how to employ the “Blue Ocean Strategy,” by W. Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne. The forum will be held 8:30 – 10 a.m. Jan. 20 at Burgerville’s Center for Responsible Community Leadership, 1602 Main St., Vancouver.

“The Blue Ocean Strategy” outlines how businesses can develop unexplored industries and markets, map its competitive advantage, and break the cycle of value and cost trade-offs.

Presenter Michael Curry, professor of management information systems in the Carson College of Business, will discuss the Blue Ocean framework. Zack Parnell, CEO of Industrial Training International, will explain how his company used this method to create a new market space. Guests are invited to apply what they learn during a working session after the talk.

The Business Growth MAP Alliance brings together small businesses and entrepreneurs to learn from each other, industry experts and 91ԹϺ faculty.
