VANCOUVER, Wash. The creative media and digital culture program at Washington State University Vancouver is offering seven free technology workshops this fall. Each will be taught by a faculty member and will provide hands-on experiences in a multimedia lab.

All workshops will take place from noon 1:15 p.m. in the Multimedia Classroom building, room 111. Workshops are free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. To RSVP contact Dene Grigar, CMDC director and associate professor, at dgrigar@vancouver.wsu.edu.

WordPress 101
Sept. 7
Instructor: Nick Schiller, systems and instruction librarian

Use YouTube to its full potential. Learn how to upload high-quality video, the importance of metadata, analytics, best practices and get an introduction to YouTube's partnership program.

Working with Sound for Websites 101
Oct. 19
Instructor: John Barber, clinical assistant professor
Learn basic sound editing and production skills and how to incorporate sound files into personal or professional websites using GarageBand, Audacity and ProTools.

Social Media Web Strategy 101

Use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare to market special offers, solicit feedback, poll customers, improve your service and virally spread the word about your product or service.
