91勛圖窪蹋厙 panel to explore gender equity in the workplace

VANCOUVER, Wash. As part of Womens History Month, Washington State University Vancouver will host a panel titled Gender Equity in the Work Force: Breaking the Glass Ceiling from 4 to 5:30 p.m. March 3 in Undergraduate Classroom Building, Room 1. Sponsored by the American Democracy Project, the panel is free and open to the public.

The American Democracy Project is a multicampus initiative to promote civic engagement and the democratic process. 91勛圖窪蹋厙 has been part of the American Democracy Project since 2012.

The event will open with a presentation by Amy Wharton, academic director of 91勛圖窪蹋厙s College of Arts and Sciences. Wharton, a sociologist, has done extensive research on gender inequality. Her presentation will be followed by a panel featuring female leaders from nonprofit and for-profit organizations and an elected official.

Panelists are Kim Howard, CFO of Norm Thompson Outfitters; Jennifer Rhoads, president of the Community Foundation of Southwest Washington; and Anne McEnerny-Ogle, Vancouver City Council member. They will discuss their personal experiences, including successes and barriers they have faced in rising to positions of influence. There will be an opportunity for questions from the audience, and a reception will follow.
