VANCOUVER, Wash. – The College of Business at Washington State University Vancouver is accepting registrations from businesses interested in judging a professional sales competition or participating in a professional sales career fair. Both events will be held Dec. 2 at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø in the Firstenburg Student Commons. The sales competition will be held from 11:15 a.m. - 5 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony. The career fair will be held from 3 – 5 p.m. Registration deadline for both events is Monday, Nov. 7.
91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø students have participated in the National Collegiate Sales Competition for the past six years. The Cougar team from Vancouver brought home the NCSC championship in 2007. Corporate representatives will be judges in selecting the student team that will represent 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø in the national competition next March at Kennesaw State University near Atlanta, Ga. Judges will also benefit from seeing 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø professional sales students in action and helping them launch their careers.
Businesses are also invited to host a booth at the 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø College of Business’ third annual Meet the Firms: Professional Sales Career Fair. The career fair provides businesses with an opportunity to scout the up-and-coming sales talent. It’s also a chance for corporate representatives to share their enthusiasm for a career in professional sales and help 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø students gain a more in-depth understanding of sales as a career field. Priority will be given to organizations that offer long-term career prospects in professional sales. There is a registration fee of $150 to participate in the career fair.
