91吃瓜黑料网鈥檚 A-Z workshops offer information about paying for college

A-Z of Financial Aid & ScholarshipsVANCOUVER, Wash. 鈥 Washington State University Vancouver will host a series of A-Z of Financial Aid and Scholarships workshops this fall for prospective college students, no matter the college they choose. These workshops are free and open to the public.

Prospective students and parents will learn from financial aid experts the many ways to make a college education attainable. Presenters will answer commonly asked questions about financial aid and scholarships, including what scholarships are available, how to apply for financial aid, and when and how to receive awarded funds.

Workshops will be held in the Student Services Center, Room 101, unless otherwise specified:

  • 5:30 p.m. Sept. 15
  • 6 p.m. Sept. 30
  • 2:30 p.m. Oct. 10, Dengerink Administration Building, Room 110
  • 5:30 p.m. Oct. 27
  • 5:30 p.m. Nov. 18
  • 7 p.m. Dec. 3, Dengerink Administration Building, Room 110
  • 1 p.m. Dec. 12, Vancouver Community Library, Columbia Room, 901 C Street, Vancouver

April Tovar, financial aid and scholarships manager, views the workshop as an opportunity to increase the community鈥檚 knowledge of financial aid processes.

鈥淢any students and families are confused by financial aid and may even opt out of choosing a college path because they do not realize there are many different routes to paying for a college education,鈥 said Tovar. 鈥淥ur workshop explores the different choices students have and how financial aid works at all institutions. The more families understand the process, the better educated decisions they can make when trying to determine what fits best for them or their student.鈥

Free parking is available in the Orange 3 lot during the listed event times.
